Africa
My African Collection is inspired by a passion for animals and seeing the rawness of an amazing continent. Although I have always been deeply interested in Africa, it wasn’t until I got involved in Kite Surfing and spotted a trip bound for Paje on the East coast of Zanzibar “Unguja”, a part of the Tanzanian Archipelago that also included an amazing Serengeti safari trip, that I actually decided to explore the African Continent. I left ten days earlier to include a small trip up to Kapama on the edge of the Kruger National Park, South Africa and was introduced to renowned photographer Albie Ventnor. His lessons inspired my passion for photography and provided me with the foundations for my work today.
I was enthralled with everything about Africa. It was wild and free in so many ways...it was untameable and humbling. I loved it all and wanted to really experience this through the lens of my camera. The more photos I took the more I wanted to take. The whole experience proved to be the beginnings of a passion that has now taken me to many places and inspires me to add many more to my bucket list.
